CAPITAL RIFT

Report illegal content

If you believe something in Capital Rift is illegal, tell us here. It goes straight to the operator and you get a reference number back.

NIKS GAMES LLC · Digital Services Act, Article 16

If somebody is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Do not wait for us. In the EU you can reach police, fire and ambulance on 112.

This form is for content you believe breaks the law: child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, credible threats of violence, illegal hate speech, criminal harassment, someone posting another person's private information, copyright or trademark infringement, or fraud.

It is not the right place for ordinary rule-breaking, bugs, or someone being unpleasant in chat. Those go to the in-game bug and suggestion boards, or to support@capitalrift.com, and they get dealt with faster there.

1The notice

You do not need a Capital Rift account to use this, and you do not have to give us your name.

As precise as you can be: a link, the channel and roughly when it was posted, the player name, or where in the world it is. If we cannot find it we cannot act on it.
Explain it in your own words. You do not need to cite a statute, but the more specific you are, the faster we can deal with it.

2You (optional)

If you leave these blank we will still act on the notice, but we will have no way to tell you what we decided. For reports of child sexual abuse material or terrorist content you should feel free to stay anonymous.

What we do with this: only us can read a notice, and neither it nor your name is ever shown to other players. We keep the notice and our decision for 12 months after we close it. We also log the IP address it came from, purely to stop the form being flooded, and delete that after 30 days. The full version is section 6 of our privacy policy.

Only used to acknowledge this notice and tell you the outcome.

Notice received. Your reference is

Keep that reference. If you gave us an email address we will write to you when we have decided what to do, and we will tell you the reasons either way. If you did not, the reference is how you can follow up with us at support@capitalrift.com.

3What happens next

The notice goes into a queue that only the operator can read. It is never shown to other players, and neither is your name.

We look at it, decide, and act. That can mean removing the content, restricting or terminating the account behind it, or deciding that the content is lawful and leaving it up. Whichever way it goes, if you gave us a contact address we will tell you what we decided and why. If we restrict content or an account, we tell the player affected and give them our reasons too, so nobody is silently removed.

If what we find suggests a criminal offence that threatens somebody's life or safety, we will report it to the relevant law enforcement authority straight away.

We are a very small operation, so please expect a person rather than a service desk. We would rather answer properly than quickly.

4Contact points

Under Articles 11 and 12 of the Digital Services Act we have to publish a way for authorities and for users to reach us. For both, it is the same address, and a real person reads it:

support@capitalrift.com

You can write to us in English. Postal contact and company details: NIKS GAMES LLC, Omaha, Nebraska, United States.
